If you have seen a Shoppers’ Guide to Pesticides, or heard about Skin Deep, the cosmetic database that reveals the toxics in your lipstick or shampoo, then you have heard about the work of the Environmental Working Group (EWG). The organization has become the premier anti-toxics advocacy group. Their work is also having a ripple effect in the product industry that is protective of the consumer.

Huffington Post bestows EWG’s President and co-founder Ken Cook with the “2009 Ultimate Green Game Changer” award. The mission of EWG is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment.

Some of the impressive investigative database tools and reports EWG offers include:
 2009 Sunscreen Safety Guide
 Skin Deep: Cosmetic Safety Database
 Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides
 Tuna Calculator
 Cell Phone Radiation
Toxic Chemicals in Found in School Cleaners

EWG was founded in 1993. Since then they have been quietly building their experience and resources until they have now become a major leader in establishing healthy benchmarks for thousands of chemicals.
