Brutal summer
heat and drought add up to needing whatever help we can get to feel refreshed. Refreshing and stimulating for the skin because of the menthol herbs, this freshener also hydrates.
10 drops each peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils
2 cups bottled mineral water
Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle, and shake to blend. Spritz to freshen the skin. Be sure to keep your eyes closed when spraying.
Variation: Add 2 teaspoons of vegetable glycerin as it draws moisture to the skin, hydrating it even further.
Something similarly wonderful for a cooling and soothing summer spray is made with peppermint and lavender essential oils combined with mineral water. Aloe is another good addition to the spray and a as Annie pointed out, glycerin acts as a humectant to draw moisture to the skin. This particular mix is especially great if you’ve stayed a little too long in the sun. It soothes surprisingly well.
The wife needs to know about this.
