Vinegar for Weeds

I saw my neighbor, Helen, digging the weeds out her gravel driveway and stopped by to give her the same tip that I am going to give to you. Helen works really hard to be natural, especially because I live down the road and she knows that I am very sensitive to chemicals. But she also cares about wildlife and the world in which we live and wants to do her part to protect it. She was gratefully eschewing herbicides (yay!), but what a time-consuming chore to pull all those weeds out!

Here is the tip I gave to her: Pour straight household vinegar onto weeds and watch them wilt! Wait a few days and pour vinegar on any slow to succumb! Make sure not to “vinegarize” any neighboring plants you want to keep, as they can also die.

Helen has been using this technique and is enthralled that it works and tickled pink about her success with it. She now buys huge quantities of vinegar at Sam’s Club and uses it for everything!
